In short. This website collects very little. The Blue Ember Breathwork app keeps your practice history on your own device and has no accounts. If you choose to connect a Garmin account, we use that data only to show it back to you inside the app. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers, and you can disconnect and ask us to delete it at any time.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the website at blueemberwellnessrva.com, the Blue Ember Breathwork web app at blueemberwellness.app, and any mobile version of that app we publish (together, the "Services"). They are operated by Blue Ember Wellness RVA LLC ("Blue Ember", "we", "us"), 5700 W Grace Street, Suite 109, Richmond, VA 23226. Questions go to Mark@BlueEmberWellnessRVA.com.
What we collect
When you visit the website
- Aggregate traffic statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and general technical details such as browser type and country. It does not use cookies or track you across other sites.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google your IP address and the request when a page opens.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address and time of request, used for security and troubleshooting.
When you contact us or subscribe
If you send the session request form or subscribe to occasional notes, we receive the details you type: your name, email address, optional phone number, the session you are interested in, and any message. The form is delivered to our inbox through Web3Forms, a form-handling service. Where a form opens your own email app instead, the message travels through your email provider. We use this information only to reply to you, to schedule and provide sessions you ask for, and to send notes if you subscribed. Please keep diagnoses and test results out of the form; we can talk through them by phone. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
When you use the Breathwork app
The app has no accounts and no sign-in. Your settings (such as sound and haptics), session history, and progress are stored on your own device, in your browser or app storage. We do not receive them. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app erases them. If we later add paid features, purchases are handled by Apple, Google, or our payment provider, and we receive confirmation that a purchase happened, not your card details.
If you connect a Garmin account (optional)
Garmin connection is entirely your choice. If it is offered in the app and you connect it, you sign in on Garmin's own authorization page and approve what you share. We never see your Garmin password.
- What we may receive is limited to the categories you approve, which can include activities, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, stress, body battery, respiration, and similar wellness metrics from your Garmin device.
- What we use it for is to show you your own data and breathing and recovery insights inside the app, and to operate and improve those features for you. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it or rent it, and we do not share it with data brokers or other third parties.
- AI and model training. We do not use your Garmin data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, ours or anyone else's.
- Where it is kept. It is stored with our cloud service providers (Railway for hosting and Supabase for database storage), which protect it with encryption in transit and at rest and are bound by their own security commitments. Only the owner of Blue Ember can access it, and only to operate or support the Services.
- How long. We keep it while your Garmin connection is active. If you disconnect, or ask us to delete it, we remove it from our systems within 30 days, apart from short-lived backups that are overwritten on their normal schedule.
- Disconnecting. You can revoke access at any time from your Garmin Connect account settings, or inside the app, or by emailing us.
- Not medical advice. Breathing and recovery information is for general wellness. It is not a diagnosis, treatment, or medical device, and does not replace care from a clinician.
Who else handles data
We use a small number of service providers to run the Services: Cloudflare (analytics and delivery), Google Fonts, Web3Forms (form delivery), Railway and Supabase (hosting and storage), Garmin (only if you connect), and Apple or Google (app store purchases). They process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect safety, and we will tell you where we are allowed to.
Security
We use encrypted connections and limit access to the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw a Garmin connection at any time. Residents of Virginia, California, and other states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including to access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or targeted advertising of their data. We do not sell data or use it for targeted advertising. Email Mark@BlueEmberWellnessRVA.com with your request. We will respond within 45 days, and if we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our answer.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle Garmin data, we will ask for your consent again before applying it to data we already hold.
